Volunteers In Manila begin local project

A new venture in Manila has begun to reach out to prisoners.

Thanks to the CARITAS group (seen in the photo above) who already visit many prisons and detention centres, MIR volunteers were able to visit the MPD detention centre, a sort of remand centre where those awaiting trial are held, and brought Bibles for any inmates who wanted them and a few biscuits for the prisoners as a treat.

Those in jail are really the poorest of the poor and yet it seems that often it can be a place where people find God or turn back to Him.

It is hoped that they can continue this work there, visiting each new influx, perhaps once a month. Its also a locally funded project which is great too.
